Motor Vehicle Dismantlers Association
The MVDA was formed in Leeds in October 1943 and has been a major trade association for vehicle dismantlers and auto recyclers ever since, promoting good trade practice and safety within the industry. The MVDA represents it members and the cause of auto recycling to the goverment.
The association represents the majority of the larger vehicle dismantlers throughout the UK. Their common interest is the recycling of motor vehicles to provide the motoring world with economically priced spare parts , while at the same time helping in the conservation of the natural resources used in automotive production.
Vehicle dismantling has seen many changes over the years , but never more so than during the last decade. Many dismantlers now utilize warehouses, computer systems and shop units , so making reclaimed motor spares more accessible to a wider public. In 1997 the association signed a voluntary agreement with the motor manufactures and metal recyclers to improve the currant recycling rates for vehicles from its present 75% to 85% in 2002 and 95% in 2015.
When buying reclaimed motor vehicle spares, ask to see if your supplier is a member of the Motor Vehicle Dismantlers Association of Great Britain. All members abide by a strict code of conduct to ensure a reliable and professional service for the customer.
